This business stands on the foundation of hard work, honesty, and faith — values passed down from my grandfather, a man whose story still inspires everything we build today. ⸻ 💬 A Legacy of Strength and Dedication My grandfather started working at just seven years old to help his parents support five younger siblings. At ten, he lost his father and had to grow up fast — working side by side with his mother to keep the family together. By nineteen, he moved to São Paulo to find a better life, and a few years later returned to his hometown in Minas Gerais to marry my grandmother — a strong, loving woman who stood by him through every challenge. Life was never easy for him, but he always kept faith and determination. At twenty-four, already a young father, he woke up at 4 a.m. every day and still found time to study, dreaming of a better future. By thirty-five, he had become a master builder, leading projects with skill and vision. He once dreamed of becoming an engineer, but even without a diploma, God gave him the wisdom and hands to create true works of art — from beautiful homes to a famous project still standing at SESC Interlagos: a giant crocodile slide for children that remains there to this day. ⸻ 🧱 The Heart of D&R Pro Builders That same dedication, strength, and vision live on through D&R Pro Builders Inc. The Story of Daniel Moutinho — Founder of D&R Pro Builders Inc. Every builder has a beginning — mine started long before I ever came to the United States. I grew up in Brazil, and by the age of 12, I was already spending my summers working alongside my grandfather on construction sites. Those early years taught me the value of hard work, discipline, and pride in craftsmanship. Even back then, I knew that building wasn’t just a job — it was a calling. In 2014, I moved to the United States with the dream of continuing that legacy. When I arrived, I lived with my uncle Rone Ferreira, who became both a mentor and an inspiration. Together, we spent countless hours fixing and rebuilding his first home, and it was during those evenings that I truly discovered my passion for construction. Over time, I also learned from my Uncle Leo Lima, who taught me how to read blueprints, understand framing, and approach every project with precision and patience. Through their guidance, I mastered the full process — from structural work to fine finish carpentry. In 2018, my life took a dramatic turn when I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. I broke my back and came close to being paralyzed. It was one of the hardest moments of my life — but it was also where my faith was tested and strengthened. Through the prayers of my mother and family, and by the grace of God, the doctors performed a miraculous surgery, placing 12 screws in my spine and restoring my ability to walk. By God’s mercy, I made a full recovery. Today, I walk, I work, and I live without pain — a daily reminder that faith can turn impossible moments into miracles. Then, in June 16, 2021, my life was forever changed again when my younger brother, only 18 years old, passed away in a motorcycle accident on his way to work after being cut off by another driver. Losing him was the hardest moment of my life. It gave me a deeper appreciation for family, faith, and the importance of using every day to do something that matters. Out of that loss came a new purpose — to build something meaningful in his memory and to live in a way that would make him proud. That’s when I decided to create D&R Pro Builders Inc., a company that represents resilience, family, and faith. The “D” stands for Daniel, and the “R” stands for Rone, honoring my uncle who helped shape my career. But behind those letters also lives the strength of my brother’s memory — a reminder to build every project with heart and purpose. Since then, D&R Pro Builders Inc. has become known for quality and professionalism across Massachusetts and Rhode Island — specializing in custom building, decks, porches, trim, finish carpentry, and renovations. In 2019, I married my wife, Gabrielle Moutinho, whose love and support have been an essential part of my journey. Together, we share our life with our beautiful Siberian Husky, Winter, who brings energy and joy to our home. My story is one of faith, perseverance, and purpose.
